                                                        INTRODUCTION
                .   Census  of  Agriculture  is  a  periodic stocktaking  1957, who set up the Organization at  the  headquarters.

               -country.  It  involves  a  functional  study  of  these  res-

                   2.  It  is  one · of  the  basic  responsibilities  of  a   Deputy Commissioner Agricultural Census (Tech.) (I)
               government to  ensure  an  adequate  supply  of food  and                        I

                   3.  The  need  for  taking  a  census  of  agriculture
              in  the  whole  of Pakistan  was  first  felt  in  1948  when   6.  A  regional  office  in  West  Pakistan  was  set  up

                  4.  The  objectives  of the  Census   were  defined
